The same hailstorm that bruises a roof usually cracks the siding on the exposed elevation. Colcon repairs and replaces residential siding across Independence and the eastern metro, and because we're already handling the roof claim, both get documented and restored together instead of turning into two separate projects.
We work in vinyl and fiber cement. Vinyl is the value option, and modern insulated profiles hold color and resist cracking far better than the panels that went on Kansas City homes in the 1990s. Fiber cement costs more up front but takes hail, holds paint for years, and won't warp against a hot south-facing wall.
Partial repairs are possible when panels are still available in a matching profile and color, and we always look for that option first. When a match no longer exists — common on older homes — we'll explain what a single-elevation replacement looks like versus doing the whole house, and what each does to the way the home reads from the street.
Every siding job includes checking what's behind the panels. We look at house wrap, sheathing condition, and moisture intrusion around windows and penetrations before new material goes up, then flash and seal correctly so the wall assembly actually sheds water.
